What I can help with, what I cannot, and who to call instead
info@empoweredtenant.org
That is the only way to reach me, and it is the only contact information this site publishes.
Before you write, please read this.
I cannot help with your case. I am not a lawyer and I do not give advice, review documents, answer questions about your facts, or tell anyone what to file. I know that is the opposite of what you were hoping to read. If you need someone who can actually help, the free legal help listed on this site is the right call, and calling more than one of them is normal.
Do not send case documents. Do not send notices, pleadings, exhibits, ledgers, medical records, or anything confidential. I cannot keep your material safe and I do not want responsibility for it. Email is not private and nothing you send me is privileged.
I may not reply. One person runs this site. A reply is not legal advice and does not create any relationship or obligation.
What is genuinely useful to send
- A correction. If something here is wrong, out of date, or a rule has changed, tell me and tell me how you know. I will fix it.
- A dead link, or a phone number that no longer works.
- A gap. If you went through something this site does not cover, I would like to know what was missing when you needed it.
- A problem with the site itself, including anything that does not work with a screen reader, a keyboard, or magnification.
If you are in crisis, please do not wait on an email
Call or text 988, or dial 988 then press 1 if you served. For housing help call 211, or 1-888-886-9660 if 211 does not connect. Those are people, right now.
